Foundation of Innovation and Creativity

Makeda’s story begins in a home where creativity was part of everyday life—not because things were perfect, but because her parents worked hard to make space for beauty and imagination, even through challenges.

Her mother had an eye for design and a gift for creating comfort, whether she was sewing curtains late at night or finding new ways to make their home feel peaceful and alive. Through her, Makeda learned how creativity can transform not only a space, but a mindset—how vision, leadership, and care can bring balance and meaning into daily life.

Her father was a craftsman who ran a custom plastic slipcover business. Makeda remembers watching him walk the streets of New York City with a large roll of vinyl under his arm, visiting customers’ homes to carefully mark and measure each piece before returning to his shop—wherever it was at the time—to cut and sew with care and precision. His dedication and pride in his work left a lasting impression, showing Makeda the quiet power of craftsmanship and excellence.

Growing up in that environment—where hard work met creativity and care—shaped Makeda’s belief in one guiding principle: Respect and protect what is sacred.

That belief continues to guide her work today. Grounded in research, curiosity, and a deep desire to solve meaningful problems, Makeda approaches each product she brings to market with intention and respect. Her goal is to create wellness solutions that not only enhance daily life but also honor the same values she grew up with—care, creativity, and the courage to make something that truly matters.
